Martino's relationship with the sea began long before freediving. Growing up on a small italian island, water was always his natural environment—a place of exploration, freedom, and connection. From an early age, he developed a deep fascination with the sea, not only as a physical space but also as a source of reflection, wonder, and self-discovery. For him, the ocean has always been more than an element; it is a place where the boundaries between the external and internal worlds become thinner.

He discovered freediving in his twenties, where he completed his first freediving certifications and started immersing himself in the discipline. Life eventually took him in other directions, and for nearly a decade freediving remained in the background. Yet the connection to the water never disappeared.

In 2020, answering a call he could no longer ignore, Martino decided to reorganize his life around freediving. Together with Louise, he moved to Dahab, Egypt and completed his instructor training. While teaching brought purpose and fulfillment, he felt drawn toward a deeper exploration of the sport. Both literally and metaphorically, he felt the need to meet his own depth.

This search led him into competitive freediving. His early competition experiences were promising, but as the depths increased, so did the emotional and psychological challenges. Nervousness began to affect his performances, leading to mistakes and a series of blackouts that forced him to question not only his training methods but also his understanding of performance itself.

Rather than seeing these experiences as failures, Martino used them as opportunities for investigation and growth. He began an extensive exploration of emotional regulation, performance psychology, breathwork, yoga, somatic practices, and nervous system training. Over the years, he combined established methodologies with his own observations and experiences, developing practical tools tailored to the specific demands of deep freediving.

His work is driven by a simple conviction: the deeper we learn to understand ourselves, the more effectively we can progress in the water. In this sense, freediving becomes not only a sport, but a powerful tool for self-discovery.

Today, Martino specializes in helping divers navigate many of the same challenges he has faced himself—from performance anxiety and emotional blocks to training plateaus and burnout. Having experienced the highs and lows of progression firsthand, he is particularly passionate about helping divers regain confidence, rebuild sustainable training habits, and return to the water with greater clarity and resilience.

Together, Louise and Martino bring two complementary perspectives to their work. Martino contributes the experience of an athlete, instructor, and competitor who has explored the practical realities of performance at depth. Louise brings expertise in Qi Gong, embodied movement, and holistic practices that cultivate awareness, regulation, and presence. Through years of shared research, experimentation, and coaching, they have developed an approach that bridges performance and self-awareness, helping divers progress in a way that is both effective and deeply personal.
